Now we finish it off by putting x = 1 and z = 0 into one of the ORIGINAL equations...  Whichever one looks easy:

STEP 4:  Pop the last guy!

x + y + z = -1 ... 1 + y + 0 = -1 ... y + 1 = -1 ... y = -2 ... circle him

So, the answer is( 1 , -2 , 0 ) .

WHEW!

Here's one more:

               x + 2y - 5z = -11

     4x - 3y + 2z = 11

-3x + 5y + 3z = 8

Always look for the path of least resistance...  The x looks like it's the easiest to get rid of!

Label the equations:

1 ) x + 2y - 5z = -11

2 ) 4x - 3y + 2z = 11

     3 ) -3x + 5y + 3z = 8
