Now, do what you did with regular long division:

multiply the 2x and the x + 5 and place the product under the 2x^2

Before we go on, I want to point out something very important to you...

mutiplying gives - ( 2x^2 + 10x ) under the dividend ... pay special attention to the parentheses
See these parentheses? If you don't put them in, you'll do the entire problem WRONG! Why?

Because that minus distributes into the second guy!

- ( 2x^2 + 10x ) .. the minus sign distributes to both terms
