If we want to solve this guy...

Let's clear out those decimals first!

2.7x + 5 = 1.3
There is ONE place behind each of the decimals...
So, multiply by 10. << one zero

10 ( 2.7x + 5 ) = 10 ( 1.3 ) which gives 27x + 50 = 13 Ditch the 50... 27x + 50 - 50 = 13 - 50 which gives 27x = -37 Ditch the 27... 27x/27 = -37/27 which gives x = -37/27
