see-saw (teeter-totter)... and you've got 50 pounds of
stuff piled on each side:
Here's the big Algebra

you've got to
keep the see-saw balanced! |
What if we add

pounds to the
left side?
CLUNK!
It's not balanced anymore!
But, if we add
3
pounds to BOTH
sides?
It
stays balanced!
Equations are just
like see-saws...
You have to
keep them balanced!
So, whatever you do to
one side of the " = "
you've got to do to the other side!
