Check this out:

-3 x 4 = -12 ... -3 x 3 = -9 ... -3 x 2 = -6 ... -3 x 1 = -3 ... -3 x 0 = 0 ... -3 x -1 = __ ... -3 x -2 = __ ... -3 x -3 = __ ... -3 x -4 = __  The answers are increasing by 3 each time. (They are getting bigger by 3 each time!)
