I was feeling more and more lost with each class that went by… not
quite understanding the lectures and not really
being able to do most the
homework. And I was really trying! The last
straw was when the teacher
came into our three hour lab class and said,
“We’re behind in the lectures, so
I’m going to lecture for three hours instead of
doing a lab.” He lost me after
the first five minutes and that was the longest
three hours I’d ever spent –
completely clueless the entire time! It was
brutal. When it was all over, I felt
like I’d been run over by a truck… five times.
There was no hope of success at that point, so I dropped the class.
Over
the summer, I read a few basic physics books
and signed up again for the fall.
I was much more prepared, worked really hard,
and got a “B+!” I felt really
good about that!
I had little hope of passing that class when I initially signed up for
it,
because I didn’t have the prerequisite
knowledge. Hopefully, that won’t be the
case for you. If it is, no problem! Just back
up a step and try it again! You’ll
get through!
