Oh… I whack the palm of my hand against my forehead!! How could a
teacher do that to a kid? Kids worship their
teachers and believe everything
they say. From that day forward, this poor guy
thought that he was stupid.
I felt so bad for him. I wanted to just give
the guy a big hug! I told him that was
just a bunch of hooey and that his teacher was
wrong! (I’d like to have a little
talk with that teacher too!)
I kept encouraging him and guess what? He got a “B” that semester!
So, he took me the next semester for
Intermediate Algebra… During that
class, I started to see him actually helping
other students with their homework
before class started. He was really feeling
good about himself and he was
feeling good about the math! He got an “A”
that semester. So, he took me the
NEXT semester for College Algebra… another
“A!” With this success, he
changed his major to Business and took Calculus
with another teacher and
ripped another great grade. I was so proud!
(sniff)
