Well, what's the thing you already know
about me? I love math! But, did you know that I used
to hate math? I thought I was really bad at it too.
Really, it was because I didn't think I was any good at it that
I started hating it. I really didn't pay much attention to
math in elementary school and, when I got into 7th grade, they
put me in a math class that was WAY to hard for me. The
reason that it was too hard wasn't taught enough math in 6th
grade to get me ready for it... so, I really didn't have a
chance. I even got F's on tests. Even though they
moved me into an easier class, I still felt like I was really
bad in math. It wasn't until I took math in college that I
found out that I could be really good at math and guess what?
Then it got to be really fun and I started liking it!
I made these websites so you don't have to
suffer like I did. I want you to know NOW that math can be
fun... and easy to learn if you just look at it the right way!
So, here's some stuff about me:
I have a Bachelor's Degree and Master's
Degree in Math. That means that I went to college for 6
years to learn a bunch of math! I've been a college math
teacher for 14 years.
I wanted to be a cartoonist when I was in
elementary school -- which is why Coolmath is always such fun
colors. It's like a big Internet math cartoon! I
still do artwork for fun and I love photography. If you

My favorite place to be is the beach!
I love boogieboarding - even though I'm not very good at it...
But, it's still fun. This isn't a very good wave or a very
good picture, but it's the only one I have:
I have REALLY curly hair! haha
My other favorite thing to do it to play
the guitar... and I'm even in a band. (We just play for
free!)
Let's see... What else do I like?
Hmm... I love movies, music and my favorite TV shows are
Seinfeld and The Mary Tyler Moore show (which was on way before
you were born.)
