| So, you’re stuck taking a
class and having to learn stuff that you, most
likely, will never need. Why do you have to even
take this class?! I mean, it’s all SO unfair! This
crud is standing between you and your dreams!
Well, everyone on the planet
has decided that you need a certain amount of math
to get a college degree. That’s the deal. Why do
you think this is? Is it because you’ll need math
for your job? Not likely. So what is it?
Math trains you to think…
and to figure things out. Hey, isn’t that one of
the six things on our success list? Sure is, Bud!
(Check out my success list here.)
OK, so you say you’ve heard
THAT line before… and you’re not buying it.
Remember that you want to
be successful. A successful person would figure out
a way to use a class like this to his or her
advantage. A successful person would want to take
this seemingly bad situation and twist it around. A
successful person would take these lemons, make
lemonade AND SELL IT! Hmmm…
So, here’s the silver
bullet – the secret to success – the key to
surviving this algebra thing:
It’s not
about the math!
You’re
not in a math class!
THIS
IS A CLASS IN SUCCESS TRAINING!
You’re going to use your
algebra class to learn how to be successful. You’re
going to learn how to be creative, how to think and
figure things out and how to self-teach (this is the
most important one). It just so happens that the
subject you’re going to use to learn these things is
Algebra.
The confidence will come
quickly as you conquer this algebra stuff. Hey, if
you can learn this, you can learn anything. You’ll
attack the rest of your classes. Nothing will scare
you anymore (except spiders).
The positive attitude and
the drive are up to you. These are things that have
to come from deep inside YOU! These are your
decisions… All you have to do is to decide to have
them and they are yours… and no one can take them
away! These are the two most important things to
get you started.
I know you’re still skeptical
at this point, but bear with me… and trust me. I’ve
taken hundreds of mathphobes worse than you and
turned them into savage algebra animals who can rip
through the most treacherous of algebra exams with
relative ease!Keep reading and check out those algebra lessons!
You can do it!
