We can do the same thing with this rule:

( the nth root of a ) / ( the nth root of b ) = the nth root of a/b

( the nth root of a ) / ( the nth root of b ) = ( a^(1/n) ) / ( b^(1/n) ) = ( a/b )^(1/n) = the nth root of a/b

We can also figure out weird numbers like

16^(3/4)

Using this rule:

( the nth root of a )^m = the nth root of a^m = a^(m/n)

The only tricky part on this one is to remember how to write the fraction:

m/n numerator is the exponent ... denominator is the radical

It's alphabetical!

16^(3/4) = the 4th root of 16^3
