Here are a few cube roots:

cube root of 8 = 2 cube root of 1 =1 cube root of -64 = -4

"What number cubed gives me 27?"

( )^3 something cubed

( 3 )^3 = 27 leads to the cube root of 27 = 3

Here's a trickier one:

cube root of -8 = ?
